This architectural installation builds on themes present in previous works by LUCITO, deploying a minimal work embedded in the architectural fabric of the building itself. A single cubic form is anamorphically projected and carved from the ceiling, both negating and amplifying perceptual aspects of highway travel and speed depending on one’s relationship to the piece. The cavity is painted with an ultramarine pigment and lit internally.

The effect: an estranged ambient square hovers before visitors to this roadside rest area. In the adjacent courtyard, a solid rough-hewn cube of granite levitates inches above the ground echoing its counterpart in the void.
